Who we are

Launch Bored is run by Kirby Ziada, a sole trader based in Victoria, Australia (ABN 15 251 995 121). When this policy says "we" or "us", that's who it means.

Questions or requests about your information go to hello@launchbored.com.

What we collect

When you get in touch

If you use the "Hey Launch Bored" form, we receive your name, your email address, what you'd like built and, if you pick one, your budget range. If you email us instead, we receive whatever you include in your email.

Analytics, only if you say yes

When you first visit, we ask whether we can count your visit. If you say yes, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages and sections you reach, which product worlds you look at, whether you open or send the contact form (not what you wrote in it), and general details such as your device type, browser and approximate location (city or country). Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from another. If you say no, Google Analytics doesn't load at all.

What every website receives

To show you the site, your browser connects to the services that deliver it. They receive your IP address and basic browser information, as with any website:

Stored on your device

We save your analytics choice in your browser's local storage so we don't ask you on every visit. It never leaves your device.

How we use it

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask us to. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who helps us

We use a few trusted services to run the site and our inbox. They handle your information on our behalf:

These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose established providers with strong security, but by using the form or agreeing to analytics you understand your information may be handled overseas.

We'd only share your information with anyone else if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to talk with you, and then for up to 2 years for our records unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If we work together, project records are kept as long as the law requires for business records. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically.

Your choices

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, form submissions go straight to our hosting provider, and only the people who need to reply to you can see them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Stack Cat, our iPhone game

Stack Cat is a game about stacking blocks under a cat. It has no accounts, no servers of our own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We don't collect, sell or share any personal information through it.

Stored on your iPhone

Your progress, coins, unlocked cats and hats, settings, local high scores and your best runs (the "ghost" you race) are saved on your iPhone. They stay there, and they're removed if you delete the game.

Game Center

If you sign in to Apple's Game Center, the game sends your scores to Game Center leaderboards and uses Game Center for online matches. Your Game Center nickname and scores can be seen by other players. Game Center is run by Apple, and Apple's privacy policy applies to it. You can play without signing in.

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The game only receives confirmation that a purchase was made, so it can unlock what you bought.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, reminders (for example, when a daily reward is ready) are scheduled on your iPhone. They aren't sent from a server, and you can turn them off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Sharing

When you share a score card or a friend challenge code, the game opens your iPhone's share sheet. What you share, and who with, is up to you. A challenge code contains the tower, your score and the timing of your run, so your friend can race your ghost. It contains nothing personal.

Children

Stack Cat doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children, so there's nothing for us to hold about a child who plays it.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first at hello@launchbored.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
